    We are the Gulf Coast's leading HR organization, uniting professionals from various industries with a common goal—to excel in employer obligations, strategic business partnerships, and effective employee relationship management—empowering HR professionals and business leaders along the MS Gulf Coast for over 35 years. With over one hundred members, our tailored programs, workshops, and learning activities elevate both individual and organizational success. As proud affiliates of SHRM, we provide exclusive access to discounted fees, scholarships, and invaluable information resources.

    SHRM Gulf Coast Annual Professional Awards

    Given annually at the Christmas luncheon meeting, these awards recognize excellence in the humanresource profession by celebrating individual achievements. They serve to honor role models, showcase dedication, and elevate the HR profession within businesses and local communities. 
     

    The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional and lasting contributions to the human resources profession over their career, with a minimum of 10-20 years of experience. It honors outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication that has significantly impacted the field and the workforce, including specific criteria like professional credentials, service to SHRM, and mentorship. This honor is given for a lifetime of excellence and impact; it acknowledges the enduring contributions and lasting legacy of the recipient.

    Recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the human resources profession through exceptional leadership, innovation, and strategic impact. This award honors role models who advance the profession by setting high standards, serving as mentors, and making a measurable difference in their organizations and communities. Common requirements include professional integrity, significant accomplishments, and commitment to ethical practices and continuous learning.

    An Emerging Leader is a high-potential future leader early in their career. Aspirational and energetic in their approaches, this individual already has many of the qualities of a leader. You'll find an Emergent Leader striving to understand others' expertise, takes on projects that test their capabilities and seeks out leadership development. Award winners use personal influence and interpersonal skills to inspire and guide others and provide HR expertise to advance the profession.
