GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

    SUSAN FAHEY DESMOND

    Susan is a Principal in the New Orleans, Louisiana office of Jackson Lewis P.C., and maintains an active practice in both Louisiana and Mississippi, specializing in the areas of labor and employment and civil litigation, including FMLA, discrimination claims, and EEOC charges.

    She routinely counsels clients on a variety of employment practices, including employment contracts and employee handbooks and policies; conducts employee training seminars, harassment investigations, and frequently speaks on employment-related topics for groups such as The Society for Human Resources Management, Compliance Online, and other management organizations.

    Susan is a member of the Federal and American Bar Associations (member, Labor and Employment Law Section; past chair, Labor Committee; Executive Council Coordinator, Young Lawyers Section; member, Torts and Insurance Practice Section; member, Emerging Issues Committee). She has served as a director for both The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division and the Jackson Young Lawyers Association.

    She was named the 1997-98 Outstanding Young Lawyer in Mississippi and is listed in The BestLawyers in America, MidSouth Super Lawyers, Louisiana Super Lawyers, New Orleans Super Lawyers and Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers, Labor and Employment Law sections.

    Ms. Desmond earned her B.A. from the University of Mississippi, and her J.D. from the University of Tennessee School of Law.
